                                           Projects

The Austin Lions Club has many recurring projects that are the mainstay of our fundraising efforts.  Listed on this page are most of those projects.  The funds raised by these projects are distributed to worthy causes as outlined on the DONATIONS page of this web site.

- Annual Pancake Day

The Pancake Day is an event that has come to be associated exclusively with the Austin Lions Club.  It is normally held each January. Lions Club members volunteer their time and resources to setting up for this big day, cooking and serving the food (Pancakes, French Toast and Sausage) and cleaning the hall after the event. 1959 was the 1st year for the Austin Lions Club Annual Pancake Day.  This event is the biggest single-day fundraiser for the Austin Lions Club.  Please watch the MONTHLY CALENDAR for the date of Pancake Day.

- Austin High School Packers Football Concession Stand

The Lions Club members sell concessions at two stands located at Wescott Athletic Field during all Austin High School Packer home football games.  The hot chocolate, hot dogs, pizza, drinks and snacks sold at these stands give enthusiastic fans the warmth and energy to cheer for their respective teams. The Lions Club splits all profits from the concession stand sales 50/50 with Austin High School. We are now open during some track meets.

- White Cane Day

Lions Club members sell small White Canes one day each year.
These white canes are a symbol of Lions Clubs worldwide and their dedication to helping people with sight-impaired disabilities.

- Peace Poster Contest

This contest is held in the fall and the winners are announced at the Lions District 5M1 Mid-Winter conference that is held in January or February.  Children in different age groups create posters promoting peace throughout the world.

- Pancake Grill Rentals

Austin Lions Club has some large grills available for rent.  If you are having a family reunion or office picnic and need to feed many individuals, please contact the Austin Lions Club.  Contact information can be found elsewhere on this website.
